D.B. loves putting  character's in near future settings that, for better or worse, still obey the laws of physics and in some unfortunate circumstances, the laws of human nature.

He relies on those close to him to keep him tethered to reality while still allowing him to fly wherever the winds of imagination blow.  They have been, remain, and will always be the string to his kite.

He is a nine-time Honorable Mention winner and one-time Silver Honorable Mention winner of the Writers of the Future short story competition.
